刘昭前教授同时还在多家一类核心学术期刊兼任编委等学术职务，主要有：《中国药理学通报》、《中国临床药理学与治疗学》、《中南大学学报（医学版）》、《中南药学》、《Journal of Diabetes Research and Clinical Metabolism》、《Journal of Diabetes and Metabolism》等等。刘昭前教授长期从事糖尿病，高血压，恶性肿瘤等重大疾病的遗传药理学和药物基因组学基础与临床应用研究。发表多篇肿瘤相关SCI文章，如：Yin JY, Shen J, Dong ZZ, Huang Q, Zhong MZ, Feng DY, Zhou HH, Zhang JT, Liu ZQ#. Molecular basis of eIF3a action in therapeutic response of lung cancer patients to platinum-based chemotherapy. Clinical Cancer Research, 2011(IF=6.747)等等。
